Due to far too many people still being either oblivious or willfully ignorant about something that, normally, should be obvious here are few
words about the story/viewing order of the Star Wars films.
The fact that those movies are numbered should normally make it pretty clear which order are we supposed to
watch those movies in ...
... however it apparently doesn´t so here is some other stuff that could clarify this:
2:38-3:09: „I´m incredibly honored, but little bewildered, I must
say. If you look at Star Wars as one movie, which is the way I look at it,
and it may be that I´m getting the award simply because I finally managed
to finish it after thirty years. You know, I´ve only made three movies. And I´m
now with my three movies one ahead of Terry Mallick for getting the most praise
for the least body of work.“ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHvOSZi3t14
1:36-1:45: „You got to remember this is one movie. And it´s
meant to be seen one through six. So I think when you watch the actual
movie in order the story will become very clear...“ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqLsQClut5c
„This really is
concieved as a six part movie, to which Episode I is the first chapter. And
sometimes it´s difficult to keep that in mind that each film while it´s
important in itself, it relates to what´s going on in that film and it has to
be entertaining in itself, really is fitting to a larger mosaic and that the
whole enterprise won´t really be understood, I think, until you can
actually sit down and watch all six episodes and follow the story because we´re
dealing with microstories here. The larger picture is kind of a diferent
story.“

„When
you see the films I through VI, it´s a very very different
experience than seeing it IV through VI and then I through III. But
the idea is when Darth Vader comes on in Episode IV it suddenly has a huge
powerfull effect because you know right from the get go that that is Princess
Leia´s father. You know that when you cut down to Luke, you know that that´s
his son. And you realize that Darth Vader is this pathetic character, he´s not
this big old powerfull master. He´s actually a pathetic man who made some
wrong choices, who found himself trapped in a world of evil. You know, he
made a bargain with the devil and now he´s living in hell and the only
people who can get him out are his kids.“

Hopefully, I clarified some things.
